A giant impact crater the size of Iowa was spotted on Saturn s moon Titan by NASA s Cassini radar instrument during Tuesday s Titan flyby. Cassini flew within 1,577 kilometers 980 miles of Titan s s stanley cups uk urface and its radar instrument took de stanley kaffeebecher tailed images of the surface. This is the third close Titan flyby of the mission, which began in July 2004, and only the second time the radar instrument has examined Titan. Scientists see some things that look familiar, along with scenes that are completely new. The new radar images are available at: http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov and http://nasa.gov/cassini. It s reassuring to look at two parts of Titan and see similar things, said Dr. Jonathan Lunine, Cassini interdisciplinary scientist from the University of Arizona, Tucson. At the same time, there are new and strange things. This flyby is the first time that Cassini s radar and the imaging camera overlapped. This overlap in coverage should be able to provide more information about the surface features than either technique alone. MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A suspected home intruder is dead after he broke into a home in Bradenton Friday morning, according to deputies.The Manatee County Sheriff s Office responded to a call of an armed home invasion robbery in the 4500th block of 27th Street West in Bradenton a little after 11 a.m. A man told deputies an unknown black man entered his house while he was sleeping and placed a gun to his head. The robbery suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Demetrius Downer, fired a shot next to the man s head and then pistol whipped him.The man said he fought back, forcing Downer to drop his gun. The man then grabbed the gu stanley taza n and then shot Downer, who then fell to the ground.The man then ra stanley italia n next door to tell a neighbor what had happened, deputies say.
