Unable to install Safe Squid with TAR File

Post by Saumya » Thu Apr 01, 2021 5:39 am

I have installed and set up Ubuntu Server. After that I created SSH Keys through Putty. According to the documentation: https://docs.safesquid.com/wiki/Setup_Y ... stribution I followed the steps to install Safe Squid using the TAR file. I downloaded and extracted the TAR file named as "safesquid_latest.tar.gz". After extracting, there's a step to install the setup file with command: "_mkappliance/installation/setup.sh" and when I try to run the command, it say invalid user: 'ssquid:root'.

Hello Saumya,

You are currently logged in as a Normal User
If you are part of the sudoers group , you can use sudo before the command to and it should run
you can also use

command `sudo -i`
this will prompt for your password
[Enter your password]

then you will be logged in as Root User and you can now perform the same action without sudo
